The starting price is posted at the beginning of the auction, but is hidden while the auction is in progress. Each $.80 &#8220;Dubli credit&#8221; that you use lowers the price of the item by $0.25, and reveals the price to you. When the price of the item reaches $0.00, you can buy the item for free (plus the cost of shipping). Obviously, many other people will be using credits as well, so you might get lucky and only have to use a few of your credits to be &#8220;Lucky ZerO,-&#8221;.
